Dan Buettner, a master of the sales book writer, studied the living habits of people in "Blue Zones" (the area with the highest rates of long-term workers). People living in these areas often enjoy a 90- or 100-year-old high. In his latest post published by social media, he shared the daily diet of "the world's longest family".

The Melis family in Sardinia, Italy has always been a model of long-term prosperity, creating nine allying brothers and sisters in 2012 and the highest Kim world record; the nine people are 861 years old, and the oldest is 109 years old. Buetna said in the video that they were having the same lunch every day.

This lunch is: a minestrone of pine beans, pinto beans and white-rosted beans, sourdough bread, a glass of red wine (2-3 oz).

Although there are many factors that affect people's lives besides eating, this lunch presents what Buetena calls "blue-zone diet", which emphasizes the use of natural, unprocessed whole foods and plants.

Sandou Cooking Soup

Buetna said that the Melis family ate Italian soup made of various vegetables nearby, and there are always three types of beans in the soup: pine beans, pinto beans and white-rooster beans. Samantha Cassetty, a New York nutritionist and co-author of Sugar Shock, said that the longest and healthiest people eat half a cup to one cup of beans every day; in addition, japonica soup contains rich vegetables, which are the best long-lasting foods.

Acid bread

bread is not usually considered a healthy food, but it can also be part of a good diet, and choosing acid bread is especially beneficial for kidney health. Cassetti pointed out that people in the "blue area" eat fermented food every day. Naturally fermented acid bread does not cause blood sugar to rise like white bread, which helps maintain a healthier blood sugar level.

A glass of wine

Buetna emphasizes that the Melis family likes to "drink" a 2 or 3 ounce glass of wine, which is half the size of a 5 ounce portion. Experts remind that drinking a glass a day may also bring other health risks.

Is this a plant-based diet with a balanced nutrition?

Casetti said that a balanced diet mainly includes complete plant-based foods and sufficient protein, and the Melis family's lunch is fully in line with it. Humans can obtain all the protein they need from plants, as long as they can meet calories and extract more sources of various proteins.

Eating the same food every day will make the nutritionist look a little bit more likely, but Cassetti said that the Melis family can eat lunch with confidence. She will worry if a person eats the same thing every day, lacks plant diversity or has low plant food content; but this lunch is 100% plant-based and diverse.
