talkSPORT reported that Arsenal and Chelsea are competing for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simmons, hoping to bring the Dutch international to the Premier League. The player is expected to leave the team this summer and is open to landing in England.

Simmons joined Leipzig on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 and completed a permanent transfer in January this year with a basic transfer fee of £43 million + a floating clause of 26 million. But the 22-year-old attacker may leave the team just months after signing a contract that lasts until 2027, with potential transfer fees expected to reach £56 million, and Leipzig also requires a second share clause to be added.

Previously, Simmons had an affair with Newcastle, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and it is reported that he has rejected the invitation from the Bundesliga giants. As Lamacia youth training, Simmons is competent for the midfielder, winger and pseudo-Nine. He has contributed 21 goals to Leipzig in the past two seasons, and has contributed 22 goals during his loan at Eindhoven in 2022-23. He also scored against England in the European Cup semi-finals this summer. After finalizing the signing of Maduaike by £52 million, the Gunners still listed Crystal Palace Eze as a key target. If Martinelli and Trosad stay on the team, the team may only introduce one of Simmons or Eze.

Chelsea regards Simmons as a replacement for Nkunku who may leave the team. The Blues have introduced Joao Pedro, Drapp and Gittens this summer, but are still seeking reinforcement on the offensive end.
