When spring and summer alternate, it is the season when the flu breaks out. The weather is hot and hot, which catches people off guard. In addition, the air is humid and the temperature is suitable, and it also gives birth to bacteria and viruses. Influenza in dogs is a very troublesome thing. The mortality rate for dogs is very high. So how should we know if the dog has flu? Experts say that a new type of influenza from Asia has caused dogs in the Midwest of the United States.

samples collected by experts showed that this new dog flu virus had never appeared in the United States before. More than 1,000 dogs have been infected with the virus in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana, and six have died.

"Canimals have never had such pressure before," said Dr. Keith Paulson, a veterinarian and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This canine disease shows flu-like symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever and loss of appetite. A small number of dogs are carriers of the virus, but show no symptoms.

This virus may be transmitted through nasal contact and may occur in foster care centers, veterinary clinics and parks.

The virus did not infect humans, Dr. Paulson said. Although this possibility of human-dog transmission has not been excluded, he believes that the probability is very low. Although there are no reports of virus-positive cats, there have been reports of cats getting sick after contacting dogs directly.

Dr. Paulson also describes ways to prevent more dogs from getting sick. If you take your dog to the park, keep holding it and avoid going to places where the dogs are dense, especially those little puppies and old dogs, whose fucking immune system is very weak. Similarly, if your dog is sick, don't take it everywhere.

The virus has a 1 to 3-day incubation period and lasts for up to 14 days in infected animals. Symptoms usually last 5 to 7 days, and the cough can last up to several weeks.

This new virus is different from the previous dog flu virus H3N8. H3N8 has been spread throughout the United States since 2004. The virus, called H3N2, has been found in China and South Korea, and the diseased animals may have been brought to Chicago.

Vaccine is usually targeted at previous American dog flu, but is only for dogs at high risk of infection. And experts don't know if the vaccine is effective against the new virus. Some pharmaceutical companies have begun to develop new vaccines, but it may take four to six months to put them into use.
