The Turin Sports Daily published an article reporting on the latest progress in Nottingham Forest's purchase of Douglas Louis.

Nottingham Forest's attempt to bring Douglas Louis back to the Premier League has entered a critical stage, and the Premier League club officially started negotiations with Juventus under the promotion of Chairman Marinakis.

Douglas Louis was a signing target explicitly requested by coach Nuno, an interest that dates back to mid-March this year when player agent Horabchin made his first contact with Forest Sports Director Edu. In fact, Edu has long admired this Brazilian midfielder. During his tenure at Arsenal two years ago, he offered 40 million euros to buy. Although he was unsuccessful, it confirmed his high praise of the players.

Now the Brazilian who fell out of favor at Juventus has been put on the saleable list, but Juventus general manager Komoli hinted that it would not cut the price and insisted on the 40 million euro price tag. Forest prefers a buyout rental plan, with a total price of about 32 million to 33 million euros. The two sides still need to negotiate to reach a satisfactory agreement, especially in the trading model. Juventus hopes to force a buyout and needs to clarify the trigger conditions.

It is worth noting that Douglas Louis is open to transfers. Compared with the previous invitations from Premier League teams such as Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Leeds United, Forest's long-term competitiveness has been more attractive last season. It is reported that Marinakis will provide a contract with an annual salary of 5 million euros plus a bonus due in 2030, which will exceed the players' current treatment at Juventus. This is undoubtedly an attractive choice for the Brazilian who has experienced a downturn in the season.

At the Golden Boy Awards ceremony held at the Turin Auto Museum on December 16 last year, Forest President Marinakis had a few minutes of conversation with Juventus Sports Director Jon Toli, then the topic was Douglas Louis, who had already begun to leave at the time.

Although Juventus rejected Forest and Manchester United's bid in January and insisted on leaving the players, the decision proved unwise. Whether it is working with Mota or Tudor, it is difficult for Brazilians to get a chance to play. Now that the conditions for separation are ripe, Nottingham Forest is looking forward to completing the signing in the next few days.
