Flamengo officially announced that Jorginho will join the team and sign until July 2028. Jorginho will play in the Club World Cup with the team, and he will wear the No. 21 jersey.
Arsenal also confirmed that an agreement with Jorginho terminates the contract early and takes effect immediately, and the players become free.
Jorginho was born in Imbituba, Santa Catarina. In 2008, he left Brazil to join the Italian Verona team while in his youth team. He earned Italian citizenship and made his mark with Naples – he played for four seasons, winning the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.
In 2018, he transferred to Chelsea in England, where he played for five seasons. He won the UEFA Cup against Arsenal in 2019, won the UEFA Super Cup in 2021, and was named the Player of the Finals. As the Champions League champion in the 2020/21 season, he also helped the team win the 2022 Club World Cup.
In early 2023, Jorginho transferred to Arsenal and played until the end of last season. In the Italian national team, he won the European Cup 2020 with the team.
Jorginho's first game will be the Club World Cup. The Ross and Blacks will face Tunisian Hope in Philadelphia at 22:00 on June 16 (Brasilian time).
Jorginho will officially debut at the George Heral Training Center this Saturday (7th).
