In the era of food integrity crisis, black-hearted food is everywhere, and you will be caught if you are not careful. Many people are fond of spicy food and will feel that the food is boring if they don’t eat chili peppers for a meal. The bags of bright red pepper noodles in the vegetable market are an indispensable seasoning in some people's kitchens. However, these beautiful chili noodles may not be all good things, including colored fakes. So how should we distinguish it?

Dyeing the dyed pepper noodles. A tissue easily reveals its true form

Taking advantage of the weekend, several friends made an appointment to go to the suburbs to barbecue. That day, my friends rushed to the vegetable market early to pick up various ingredients for picnic and barbecue. After buying meat and vegetables, Lao Li, who usually likes spicy food, said: “We must buy some chili noodles, and when the lamb kebab is cooked, it will be better to sprinkle with chili noodles! ”So, he went straight to the stall selling pepper noodles.

Lao Li picked up a large bag of bright red pepper noodles in front of the stall and asked the boss, how much does this pepper noodles cost per pound? Before the boss could speak, Xiao Xu, who was a food professional, came up and said, "Wait a minute and let me see."

He pinched a little chili noodles and rubbed them with his hands, but there was no red color left on his hands. He smiled and said: “Old Li, you are too anxious, and I don’t know if this pepper noodles are real first. If you buy the wrong one, you won’t be able to eat chili and just eat corn skins. Barbecue is not healthy at all, so wouldn’t it be worse to eat some fake and shoddy seasonings? &rdquo: When the boss heard their conversation, he smiled and said: &ldquo: "Hey, you are really right." However, we dare not sell that kind of dyed chili noodles. Eating too much of that thing can kill people. Isn’t selling that kind of thing unethical? ”

So, why do you need to dye the pepper noodles? What harm does eating dyed chili noodles have to do to the human body?

Ten kilograms of pepper noodles and 7 kilograms of corn skin

For those who are addicted to spicy food, if they don’t eat chili for a meal, they will feel that the food is boring. The bags of bright red pepper noodles in the vegetable market are an indispensable seasoning in some people's kitchens. However, these beautiful chili noodles may not be all good things, including colored fakes.

As early as 10 years ago, some media reported on the issue of dyeing pepper noodles. In order to save costs, black-hearted vendors grind cheap corn peels into powder and mixed them into chili flour. As for how much corn skin to mix a pound of pepper flour and how to mix it, it depends entirely on the courage of the black-hearted vendor. Those who are brave enough to mix more than seven taels of corn peel per pound. It's really a scam.

If you just mix some corn skin, it would be fine, corn skin is not bad. The key is that the corn skin is not red. To make it look the same as the pepper noodles, you have to dye it red. The most popular dye for black-hearted vendors is rhodamine B.

Rodamide, bright red, but is a powerful carcinogen,

Rodamide B is an artificially synthesized dye, also known as “ “ Rose Red B” and was once used as a food dye. But later, people found that it was very carcinogenic. Some people used Rodamine B to feed mice. After feeding them for a while, the mice developed sarcoma. Later, someone proved that what happened to mice could also happen to people.

Since knowing the harm of Rhodamine B, the state has banned its use in food. Regularly eating foods with rhodamine B will not only damage the heart, but also prone to cancer.

Tear a piece of paper towel and dip it in some water. The dyed pepper noodles will show their original shape. No matter how good the corn skin pepper noodles look, they are dyed with dyes, which is still different from high-quality pepper noodles. The good peppers are red and yellow, loose and dry, and have no impurities, because they are so spicy that they will feel uncomfortable when they are close to each other.

Dyeed chili noodles are exactly the opposite, red and brightly red, but spicy but light. Here is another tip to introduce to everyone, just prepare a wet tissue in advance. When buying chili noodles, you can pinch a little chili noodles onto a wet tissue, wait for a while, and then remove the chili noodles on the wet tissue to see if the tissue turns red. If the tissue is dyed red, it means that artificial dye is added to the pepper powder.

Because, normal peppers contain natural pigments, which are only soluble in oil, insoluble in water, and will not fade when encountering water. However, rhodamine B is dissolved in water and will leave traces on wet tissues. In addition, some black-hearted vendors use Sultan Red to dye corn skins. Sultan Red, like Rhodamine B, will appear in the original form on wet tissues.

Careful tips

Be careful when buying peppercorns; in addition to using Rodamine B to dye the pepper surface, black-hearted vendors also use it to color the peppercorns. The peppercorns with rhodamine B were bright red in color and looked shiny, but the particles were smaller than ordinary peppercorns. Rub with a wet tissue, it will also fade easily.
